The 4,000-meter canal scenery of Tantai Lake is located in the core area of the canal business circle in Wuzhong District, Suzhou. It is surrounded by a prosperous city in the front, and the water system in the back is surrounded by clouds and clouds.

     While inheriting the cultural heritage of the canal, this project is rooted in the urban cultural soil and uses the concept of "urban garden" to create a landscape lighting project for the canal section, allowing visitors to linger in the feast of light and shadow on the riverside of the ancient canal for thousands of years, and feel the strong charm of the canal in the flow of light and shadow .

—Lighting Upgrading and Renovation on both sides of The Grand Canal —

     The lighting is inspired by the traditional square space, using it as the strongest memory and symbol container of a city. It carries people's lifestyle and spiritual sustenance. It integrates buildings, cities, public spaces, and private spaces, and carries multiple functions such as gatherings, leisure, commerce, and memorials.

      Ou Ruijie is honored to have the opportunity to participate in the landscape lighting program of the canal scenery belt. In this project, we use the wizard 2 series of tree-illuminating floodlights to achieve 2200K to 5700K grayscale changes or specified color temperatures through control, and the lighting effect is transparent , Shining brilliantly, to achieve colorful light and shadow effects in different seasons and holidays. 

     The lighting enhancement plan for the night view of the canal scenery belt is designed to range from east to west, starting from Dongqing Road and passing through Tantai Lake Bridge, Long Bridge and Xinjia Bridge, with a total length of about 4,000 meters.

Guidance and Transmission

   The canal scenery belt is an area where people converge and an urban garden. It makes full use of the combination of public squares, waterfront space and urban elements to closely link urban public leisure spaces.

    A total length of 4 kilometers adopts an offline main control and 10 sub-controller control system, and optical fiber communication between sub-controllers. This system has a strong load capacity, and the load distance of each port can exceed 400 meters without delay. .

     Through the analysis of the traffic, people flow and sight line of the canal scenery belt, highlight the spatial form of the environmental night scene, coordinate the brightness contrast relationship between various levels and plates, and create a higher level on the three levels of far, middle and near, and have a leading demonstration role The night scene node.

     Traffic analysis: Dongwu Road, Yingchun Road and Taihu Road jointly constructed the traffic skeleton around the project.

     A fitness loop trail with a width of about 2.5m runs through the entire canal scenery belt, and several pedestrian entrances are interspersed to form the project amusement road.

    The light design combines high and low building blocks, and the rhythm of the space gathered together, using dots, lines, and planes as expression techniques, step by step, to condense the sense of hierarchy and order of the landscape space.

     Pedestrian flow analysis: There are a number of entrances to the park along Taihu East Road and Taihu West Road to introduce pedestrian flow; at the same time, people on the south bank will be drained through Xintang Landscape Bridge, Long Bridge, Tantai Lake Bridge, and Tantai Lake Landscape Bridge. In the canal landscape belt, there are crowded places such as Wulong Bridge Park and Tantai Lake Landscape Bridge Square.

     Line-of-sight analysis: Based on on-site collection and plane analysis, the linear canal scenery belt can be divided into three categories: perspective on the bridge, perspective on pedestrians, and perspective on the opposite bank.

Perspective on the bridge:

   With a higher field of view and a wide open, you can see the scale and linearity of the landscape belt relatively completely;

Pedestrian perspective:

   More emphasis on people's participation and sense of experience in the environment;

Opposite perspective:

    The distance is widened, the lake is open, and the fully unfolded lake shore facade can be seen, which has a strong integrity. ‍

   Light nodes: through the analysis of traffic, people flow, line of sight, etc., light nodes are distributed along the canal scenery belt;

    At night, the lighting order is scattered. The landscape lighting design combines high and low building blocks, and the rhythm of the space gathered together, using dots, lines, and surfaces as expression techniques, step by step, to condense the sense of hierarchy and order of the space.

     The two-color temperature group aquatic reed concealed lighting runs through the entire lighting belt, which is continuous as a whole, and organically connects the various lighting nodes of the canal scenery belt.

       In midsummer, the Grand Canal flows with blue waves. The dense water color and green shade of the aquatic plants on the embankment and the light of the high-rise buildings on the shore are given life like flowing water. With the beautiful and gentle melody, it walks among the nature and is active in the canal. Every corner.

   Use the light source to shape the vitality of the tree of life, so that it not only highlights the characteristics of the individual, but also returns to the natural theme.

  Different lighting atmospheres are given to different scenes, so that pedestrians have a sense of novelty in moving scenes.

Lamp selection and installation

     This project uses the second-generation light tree lamp of the genie, which is an upgraded version of the first genie. It not only inherits the solid design of the first genie, but also has high-quality, corrosion-resistant special surface coating, high IP level, and guarantees the long service life of the lamp. Multiple advantages, and a lot of upgrades, such as increased light efficiency, improved CRI, increased anti-glare measures (5 types), and increased multi-application installation scenarios.

    According to different tree species, size, location, and a combination of tree-holding + landing installation, 60W and 40WDMX512 control more than 1,700 sets of lamps.

    Use OSRAM's new generation of high luminous efficiency light source, adopt 2200K+5700K dual color temperature, all lamps and lanterns display value above 80, luminous efficiency above 80lm/w, color tolerance less than 3, color temperature deviation value within 100K, and passed the new test in the national electric light source , Through the control, it can realize 2200K to 5700K gray scale change or designated color temperature. Different effects can be selected according to the seasons and holidays, and the change process is soft and no jitter can support 4K ultra-clear video shooting. ‍

     In terms of installation method, the tree-holding installation method adopts Oruijie flexible hoop, the snap-on belt installation method is easy to use, and the automatic size adjustment function does little damage to the tree. Each set of lamps is equipped with a stainless steel wire safety rope, which is installed in the bionic bird's nest. It is beautiful and natural, and is more integrated with the environment.

    Floor installation adopts a pre-cast cement base, which can install the lamp in an open environment, and then put it into the designated installation externally, which can greatly save installation time, and the cement has a long and stable service life, which can well control the use of the lamp. Not to be destroyed by others.

    The Grand Canal, like a container of time, carries the light and shadow here. The rhythm is like water, vigorous. While light and shadow link the long history and urban context in the past, it also injects current vitality technology into it, reflecting the pioneering spirit and the light of the world, and creating the urban living room in the bustling life.
